Show & Tell: WOODWARDS

Project Scope: Lath & Plaster for a contemporary interior

Anyone who has ever lived in Vancouver knows WOODWARDS is a name branded with many memories. Distinct Interiors worked on the building back in 1993 shortly after it closed. We were brought in to work on a film set. The building was abandoned, cold, damp and dark. Such was the state on the Downtown Eastside.

But with the rebirth of the WOODWARDS District today, those memories are gone. It has an authentic established downtown vibe, although the Eastside stigma may reside, you can now feel the positive change and the entrepreneurial spirit is moving in. The building it self is very well appointed in a unstated manner paying homage to the original landmark. Young, middle aged and families fill the halls and elevators of the 42 story Home.
